IDC was asked to make landmark 'Bestimix'

Rob Da Bank and the Bestival crew asked for an album-length IDC mix for the Bestival blog for the landmark 50th edition of the 'Bestimix' series - you can hear the results through the player on the right of the page. The UK broadsheet newspaper The Guardian called it "a rollicking party set".

Early 2011 saw some great dance press action for IDC

DJ Mag featured IDC three times in the March issue saying "IDC is a genius and 2011 will be his year" whilst as-yet-unreleased track 'Everybody' occupied the No1 slot in the Electro chart. The 'Star Letter' was from a London University student telling how IDC's music has been soundtracking their recent protest marches and the 'Bass Music' singles section called IDC the "Electro mischief-maker" in an 8.5/10 review...

In the same month's issue of iDJ IDC was named as "clearly one of electronic music's finest purveyors"...

Last year...

Although there were only three new IDC tracks out in the wild during 2010, they managed to create a stir in several quarters, including national UK Radio 1 airplay, an ambition-fullfilling mention in none other than Fortean Times and of course continuing support from the major dance press...

At the start of the year "This Is Not A Riot" picked up Radio One airplay and received widespread press attention, much of it due to the inclusion of samples of the LRAD riot control audio weapon which were recorded at G20 demonstations around the world. Rob Da Bank called it "Revolutionary rave". After initially being available as a free download it was fully released via inclusion on the 'Dancephonica Volume 1' Corsair Records compilation.

Summer single "Daytime Radio Hit" picked up some great reviews in the mainstream dance press, with International DJ Magazine giving an 8/10 rating in the 'Warehouse' singles review section, DJ Mag called IDC an "electro anarchist" and reckoned the track is an "aptly-named DFA-style grooveathon" whilst Mixmag named it a "fun electro romp" and wrote "there's something very sexy about a woman with an NY accent calling you a mother-fucker and telling you to "get the fuck out of here."

Later in the year, IDC's remix of Dogtown Clash's "Hole In My Head" came out on Westway Records and was reviewed as one of DJ Mag's 'Killers'. It also received an 8/10 in iDJ calling it "a super smash-out from IDC".

To round off the year as it began, an IDC created Steinkski-esque cut-up version of this track called "No Ifs, No Buts"and it was made available as a free download. Featuring chants recorded at UK Student demonstrations alongside quotes from British politician Nick Clegg, it picked up XFM radio play, a fair amount of blog action and led iDJ to say "if it’s anarchy you want then IDC is your man."
